Elections in Peru. Metaphor of the crossroads to nowhere.

Elections in Peru , multiple paths, any destination?

When someone is in a crossroads, you know that any of the alternatives leads to a specific place. The path chosen depends on knowledge of the place and the objectives that drive the trip.

In one country, political elections have that connotation and it is therefore appropriate to use the image of the crossroads to refer to the elections. The roads do not allow return and when you get to where they lead, even if it was not the desired destination, to undertake new search have to wait a while.

Each path is like proposing a political candidate and destination, to get where you get may be the dreamed place or a doomsday scenario; In the first case the proposed candidate was chosen, with a real political party, ideology with a national vision; in the second the people chose an adventurer, an "outsider" who in the end has as many tricks as an old politician.

Peru has a history that equate traveler increasingly reaching the crossroads, not only know where it leads each alternative but for any choice, always come to a desolate, sad, perhaps some sign of life, color, that do not compensate the desolate landscape that people never wanted to get. A developed country, not only materially, but morally, with an ethos of greatness, it has a purpose (social vision, long term), so in elections also has few alternatives to choose between a small group of policy options and candidates, and when get the power,  usually keep their promises, and above all, direct and guide the country towards great common vision, long-term goal of all organized society aims to achieve.

In April 2016, there will again presidential elections and for Peru the picture is similar to the confused traveler who does not choose rationally between multiple paths, all with songs of attractive mermaid, so whichever you choose, it will mean a setback in its personal (or national) development .

Political parties make absurd and unrealistic promises, the citizen without critical consciousness, choose the most promising and choose. Instead of dialogue, proposals and goals, candidates face each other in the worst way, with absolute lack of solid but with plenty of insults, low blows and violent arguments.

Hopefully Peru ever choose an appropriate way, perhaps blindly, but get lucky this time. Otherwise, each new election will be as go voluntarily into the abyss.
